File a Police Report

In an emergency, always call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, call  815-726-2491.

There are two alternative methods of filing a police report. Victims can file a report online or visit the front desk of either Joliet Police station.

Many police reports can now be filed online electronically. In most cases, you can file an online report for the offenses of: Accidental Damage to Property, Theft Under $500, Criminal Damage to Property, Civil Matter, Lost Property, Nuisance Complaint, Animal Complaint, Information for Police, or Identify Theft. More information about  online report types can be found at How it Works/Incident Types.

Generally, when one of the above mentioned crimes has occurred, and there is no suspect information or no safety threat exists, these reports are eligible for an alternative response.
