The Joliet Police Department Public Affairs Unit handles all media relations and inquiries, and acts as a spokesperson for the department on behalf of the Chief of Police. Public Affairs consists of active, sworn members of the Joliet Police Department.  Public Affairs duties include, but are not limited to:

• Public Information Officer 
• Maintaining positive working relationships with members of all media
• Media Releases
• Media informational inquiries
• Media Briefings
• Joliet Police Department social media
• Community outreach 
• Freedom Of Information Act requests
