Henry Sehring House — 315 Bridge Street

The Henry Sehring House is a 2½-story, wood clapboard, Queen Anne/Classical style structure built in 1895 on a Joliet limestone foundation. The house, designed by Joliet architect Hugo Boehme, is dominated by a large, open wrap porch which encircles a turret on the left side. The structure has a pyramidal hip roof with dormers on all four sides. The corners of the house are framed with Classical pilasters that are fluted below the eaves. The home is one of three remaining Sehring mansions, which formed a cluster near the former Sehring Brewery location at the northwest corner of Bridge and Summit Streets. The structure is a Local Landmark.
