Councilwoman Quillman has been representing the residents of Joliet since 2005. She serves as Chairwoman of the Communications Technology and Information System (CTIS) committee, Stadium Committee, Land use Committee, Legislative Committee, and is the Liaison to the Joliet Historical Museum and the LGBT Community with Deputy Chief Al Roechner. She also serves on a committee for the Viet Nam Veterans. She has also chaired the Diversity and Community Relations committee which she implemented.
Jan is a registered nurse and currently works at a local hospital. Jan also has had the honor of being a flight nurse for Honor Flight Chicago.
She has served on the Joliet Zoning board of appeals 1995 – 2003 The Will County Metropolitan Exposition Auditorium Authority which oversees the Rialto Square Theatre 1997-2003, Will County Economic Development partnership Board 1997-2005 and former member of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic Board of Directors and the Quality of Life Task Force for Districts 4 and 5. She is also a 2004 graduate of the Joliet Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School.
Currently Jan is a member of the Joliet Historical Museum, Cathedral Area Preservation Association, Slovenian Women’s Union, St Joes Park Senior Citizens Association, and the National Hookup for Black Women.

Family History
Jan is married to retired Joliet Police Department Sgt. Detective Tom Quillman. They share their home with their niece Katie and two cats.

Goals for the City of Joliet
Jan’s main focus is the revitalization of Downtown Joliet, Jefferson Street Corridor, the completion of the Transportation Center, and the continued growth of Collins Street. Jan wants to insure that city services always have a top priority. She will continue to promote new businesses in Joliet that will create jobs and continue to work to improve the quality of life for each citizen.
