The Henry Schwartz House is a 2½-story, front gable, wood clapboard, Vernacular/Classical style structure built in 1871 on a Joliet limestone foundation. The structure has an symmetrically-placed front entry door and a 1-story, open, front porch with a hip roof supported by four Classical columns. The structure is one of the earliest surviving Joliet residences on US Rt. 30, also known as the “Old Plank Road Trail." The structure is a Local Landmark.
