The Henry and Helen Balensiefer house is a 2-story wood clapboard Dutch Colonial style structure built in 1906 on a Joliet limestone foundation. The property retains many original features, including wood windows, front porch, and lunette window in the front- and side-facing gables. The structure is a Local Landmark, part of the Colonial Revival Thematic District, and part of the East Side National Register District.
