The George E. Niver House is a single-story, wood clapboard, Vernacular Bungalow style structure built in 1885 on a Joliet limestone foundation. The simple, rectangular structure has a gable roof and an open front porch with a low shed roof. The main entry door is located slightly right of center and is flanked by a single one-over-one double-hung sash window on either side. The original homeowner, George E.
