 Dave Wheeler - Woodworker

Dave Wheeler is a Joliet based artist and Marine Veteran who specializes in woodworking practicing several disciplines such as furniture making, carving, lathe turning, sculpting and rustic live edge designs. One of his greatest influences is his grandfather.

Dave has been exploring his talents for the last eight years making pieces for numerous events, collaborations, and commissions. He joined the Old Joliet Prison Burnt District Artists in 2018 which spear headed his love for art and wood working. Dave joined the Joliet Art Movement in 2022 collaborating with other local artists to bring art further into Joliet and its neighborhoods.

Dave has made several pieces that have been featured in local museums like the Joliet Area Historical Museum and the Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery. He has had pieces shown at the Plum Creek Nature Center. In 2022 Dave was appointed to the City of Joliet Arts Commission and serves on the Innovation Sub-Committee.
