Historic Union Station was decommissioned on September 26, 2014.

New pedestrian tunnel access was established for the Heritage Corridor platform on February 12, 2018.

The new train station opened on April 11, 2018. Amtrak and Metra ticket agents operate from the new station.

Metra ticket agent hours are M-F from 4:30 am to 12:30 pm. Amtrak ticket agent hours are M-F from 5:15 am to 3:00 pm, and Sat-Sun from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.

The new bus station opened on December 14, 2021. Building hours of operation are M-F from 4:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Sat from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. Closed Sundays and Major Holidays.
