Penalty
A 1.5% late fee will be charged if the water bill is not paid in full by the due date.

Shut off for Non-Payment
If your service has been terminated due to nonpayment please contact Customer Service. Any payment made on-line or via the automated phone system, must be reported to a Customer Service Representative in order to get water reinstated. A $120 turn on fee will be charged if water service is requested to be reinstated after hours. The utility department has 24 hours from the time payment has been received to reinstate water service. The City is no longer sending out delinquency notices separate from the utility bill. If you are delinquent, your water bill will include a message letting you know that your water may be turned off for non-payment.

Utility Rates
The City of Joliet utility bills are calculated in hundred cubic feet (HCF), 1 HCF is equivalent to 748 gallons. Current Utility Rates can be found here. Bills are calculated for days of service on water, sewer and municipal waste, as well as actual water consumption.
