The City of Joliet has sought and obtained a court order for the demolition of an unsafe structure at 353 East Jackson Street. The property is a church owned by the Church of the Living God, The Pillar and Ground of Truth. The structure has not been used since part of the chimney fell onto an adjoining property. The City of Joliet Inspectional Services Department, declared the property unsafe upon subsequent personal inspection.
