GLENWOOD AVE ROAD CLOSURES

FOR PARKVIEW NORTH WATER MAIN INSTALLATION

Work for the Parkview North Water Main Improvements Project is currently underway and upcoming portions of the project will require road closures on Glenwood Avenue. Two separate road closures and associated detours are scheduled in relation to the water main installation.

On October 8 & 9, 2024, the contractor will install water main across Glenwood Avenue west of Springfield Avenue. Due to the nature of the work, a full road closure will be required on Glenwood Avenue between Republic Avenue and Springfield Avenue. One lane of northbound traffic and one lane of southbound traffic will be maintained on Springfield Avenue at Glenwood Avenue. Only local traffic will be permitted on Republic Avenue from Jefferson Street to Glenwood Avenue and on Glenwood Avenue from Barney Drive to Republic Avenue. The closure on Glenwood Avenue will be re-opened at the end of each workday. Detour routes will be posted and are listed below.

• Eastbound traffic on Glenwood Avenue will be detoured south on Barney Drive, east on Jefferson Street, north on Springfield Avenue back to Glenwood Avenue. Westbound traffic will follow the same detour route in reverse.

On October 12 & 14, 2024 the contractor will install water main across Glenwood Avenue east of Barney Drive. Due to the nature of the work, a full road closure will be required on Glenwood Avenue between Barney Drive and Republic Avenue. Access to The Birches will be maintained via northbound Republic Avenue or westbound Glenwood Avenue. The closure on Glenwood Avenue will be re-opened at the end of each workday. Detour routes will be posted and are listed below.

• Eastbound traffic on Glenwood Avenue will be detoured south on Barney Drive, east on Jefferson Street, north on Republic Avenue back to Glenwood Avenue. Westbound traffic will follow the same detour route in reverse.

Drivers should be prepared for long delays and are reminded to slow down and use extreme caution when driving through the work zone. Obey the posted speed limit and signing and watch for workers or flaggers.  For the safety of workers and drivers do not use cell phones or text.
