Dr. Mirjam Milharčič Hladnik, is speaking across the U. S. to present this new book on Slovenians. She is one of Slovenia’s leading researchers about Slovenian-Americans and their achievements. The stories she shares are of interest to anyone who wants to learn more about why so many European emigrants chose to leave their homeland and establish themselves in this country.
The people who left the Slovenian lands took recipes for their foods, accordions for their music, and love for their culture and language, which has remained. In their new American communities, these Slovenians built homes, churches, and cultural institutions that have survived until today.
This is a rare opportunity to learn more about Slovenians and their cultural presence abroad.
