At 6pm we will have a guest speaker, Nikki Merriman and then we will host a memorial ceremony and march to honor the Will County women and children who have been murdered over the past decade.
Nikki was raised in Joliet, Illinois by a firefighter and an ICU nurse. While she studied psychology in college, she went on to become an author. With five published books and a guided journal, she's mastered the art of poetry and has left countless readers wanting more. There's more to her than just her writing, though. When she's not crafting poetic masterpieces, you'll find her wielding brushes and creating magic as a makeup artist. With 6 years of experience in the industry, she loves the art of enhancing natural beauty and transforming faces into works of art.
Nikki is also an advocate and a public speaker. From intimate gatherings to packed auditoriums filled with up to 500 people, she takes the stage to shed light on important topics like sexual assault and teen dating violence.
Community organizations will be there with resources and information available to help survivors and their families.
